Terms of Service

These terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("we"), and govern your use of candlelit. By creating an account you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it.

candlelit is a workspace for running product development with coding agents. It records what your agent does, tracks work against measurable outcomes, and can present that record to people you invite.

It is an invite-only beta. Features may change or be withdrawn, and we may impose reasonable usage limits.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything your coding agent does with the credentials you give it. Keep your API tokens secret; if one is exposed, revoke it.

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, whichever is higher.

Your content stays yours. We claim no ownership of it.

You grant us only the licence needed to run the service: to store your content, process it, and display it to the people you invite to your workspace. We do not use it to train models. That licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.

You decide who joins your workspace and what they see. If you invite a client to a reporting view, you are responsible for the accuracy of what is shown there and for having the right to share it. We provide the surface, not the judgement about what belongs on it.

Do not use the service to break the law, infringe someone else's rights, attack or probe our systems or anyone else's, circumvent limits or billing, resell access, or store malware.

We may suspend an account that is causing harm or risk to the service or to other users. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you first.

Connecting GitHub, Sentry, Slack, Stripe or any other service means also accepting that provider's terms. Their behaviour, availability and pricing are outside our control. You are responsible for the scope of the credentials you give us.

candlelit is currently offered without charge to teams on the waitlist. If and when pricing is introduced we will tell you before anything is billed, and nothing is charged without you asking for it.

Where a subscription is in place it is billed in advance through Stripe and renews until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period. Prices exclude VAT unless stated otherwise, and we will give at least 30 days' notice of a price change.

The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free.

In particular: candlelit records and reports what your coding agent and your connected services tell it. It does not independently verify that work was done correctly, and figures it derives — including any billing figures — are your responsibility to check before you rely on them or send them to anyone. Do not treat this software as a system of record for accounting or legal purposes without your own review.

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Our total liability in any twelve month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

You may close your account at any time. We may end this agreement on 30 days' notice, or immediately if you materially breach these terms.

For 30 days after closure you may ask us for an export of your content. After that it is deleted, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring proceedings where they live.
